This is a continuation of my previous opinion article and thus is much shorter, as I've covered the main details of the dub already.
Watching this disc dubbed was as enjoyable as the first. I've now gotten used to the raspier, wiser Hermes that Cynthia Martinez brings forth (frankly, he's less annoying that way), and Kino is as solid as ever. The incidental roles were straightforward and not out of place, and I like the various accents they gave the "old men on the rails". The King from the Coliseum episodes was stellar. He sounded so sleazy and scumbag-ish and his hysterical laughter was awesome. However, I was most looking forward to hearing Shizu and Riku's voices.
Shizu's voice didn't really stand out to me, though. He's solid at portraying a young and hurt man, but that initial impression wasn't nearly as impressive as Kino's was. While I eagerly awaited to hear Riku, I was disappointed they didn't dub Riku's "Good job" to Shizu when they meet up in the tunnel in the first Coliseum episode. However, once Riku encounters Hermes, I absolutely loved his refined British accent. He sounded so prim and proper and I was very happy that they didn't sell him short due to his low amount of lines.
However, there were several moments of dialogue that weren't dubbed. The first I noticed was Riku's "Good Job" mentioned before. Also, during the battle between Kino and Shizu, Hermes blabbers about nonsense to the guard, which was mostly silent in the dub.
However, by far my favorite moment was in the start of the first Coliseum episode. "Yes sir Mr. Kino!" had me laughing out loud.
All in all, the dub continues to be highly enjoyable. I've gotten used to the main characters and after this point, everyone introduced only lasts for an episode, so if there are any voices I don't like, I don't have to listen to them for very long.
