Kino no Tabi has been released on 6 DVDs in Japan and is slated for a 4 disc release in North America.

Japanese Release

There are first-press bonuses for all the discs, namely along the lines of story cards containing a short, serialized story by Sigsawa and artwork by Kuroboshi. Also, DVD 6 comes with a bonus drama CD.

North American Release

ADV Films has the rights to distribute this series in North America. It appears that it will be released over 4 discs, with a 4-3-3-3 episode format. Volume 1 is available as a stand-alone or coupled with a box to hold the full series, with the remaining discs to be released 1 per month afterwards. The series box also contains a small license plate with the name "Hermes" on it.

The discs for the NA release use some of the same covers as the Japanese release. Disc 1 has the same cover as Japanese disc 1; Disc 2 has the same cover as Japanese disc 3; Disc 3 has the same cover as Japanese disc 4; Disc 4 has the same cover as Japanese disc 5.
