Ryo Sakai is the composer for the Kino no Tabi tv series, although he is not listed in the credits for the Kino PS2 game. His other works include the music behind popular series such as Ayashi no Ceres (Ceres, Celestial Legend), Fushigi Yuugi Eikouden (The Mysterious Play 3rd OVA series) and Houshin Engi (Soul Hunters). He has also done music for various drama series including a rather large number of Takehito Koyasu projects.
Although there is no Kino soundtrack on sale, the visual book comes with a short cd containing several tracks from the series. The music has some commonalities with the Ayashi no Ceres soundtrack, although it has more European leanings than the former. His music tends to be quiet and fairly understated, switching between dark and moody to bouncy and uplifting, depending on the track.
