There are two visual novels currently available for Kino no Tabi. Visual novels are different from the regular novels in that they are illustrated (hence the term "visual", not to be confused with "visual novel" video games that are illustrated stories that you play on a gaming system, like the PS2.) The Kino no Tabi visual novels are about 8 inches by 8 inches (square) and half an inch thick. You may be able to find them in the artbook section of bookstores, or you can order them online.
The first Visual Novel, Their Memories: Kioku no Kuni, was first published 12.25.2003. It is about 50 pages long and has a price of 1800 yen. The ISBN number is 4-8402-2525-7. In addition to the book, Their Memories comes with a short audio cd containing seven short tracks from the television series.
The second Visual Novel, A Tale of a Traveler: You, was first published xx.yy.2005. It is much longer than the first, mostly because after 30 pages of story comes over 30 pages of text-free artwork. All of this artwork is relatively new, having been released after Kuroboshi's artbook, The Beautiful World and hence this book is also referred to as Kuroboshi's mini-artbook. In addition to the book, the second visual novel comes with a region 2 DVD containing the short (30-minute/Entama) version of the Kino no Tabi movie, Nanika wo suru tameni.
